September 9, 2002 -- San Diego, CA -- Travel Talk RadioTM announced today that Richard Copeland, President of the American Society Travel Agents Association (ASTA), will be a special guest on Travel Talk Radio's ONLINE program Thursday, September 12, 2002 from 9 - 11am Pacific at www.traveltalkradio.com.

ASTA's mission includes enhancing the professionalism and profitability of member agents through effective representation in industry and government affairs, education and training, and identifying and meeting the needs of the traveling public. "We invite our audience to join us for a visit with Richard Copeland, as we review this past year and focus on ASTA's continuing commitment to building awareness and supporting travel agents", said Sandy Dhuyvetter, executive producer of Travel Talk Radio. "With an incredible agenda ASTA is the most productive and significant agent organization supporting it's 24,000 members".

Also joining Sandy on the show is Steve Born, Director of Marketing for Globus/Cosmos.

The Globus family of companies consists of more than 30 tourism and aviation businesses, serviced by a group of more than 5,000 professionals worldwide. Combined, Globus and Cosmos carry about 500,000 passengers a year making the company the leading operator of guided vacations worldwide.

Our third segment welcomes Travel Agent Jose Brito from Deluxe Travel Ltd. out of Reno Nevada. Jose's agency provides cruises, tours and all types of specialty tours. In addition the agency is powered by GATEWAY Computers. We will hear why Gateway was the choice of Deluxe Travel Ltd and why Gateway is a great choice for small and medium businesses.

During the weekly segment Top of the Hour News, eTurboNews.com publisher Thomas Steinmetz gives an overview of this week's global travel news. Mark D. Eisner MD, MPH, FCCP will be the Top of the Hour Travel News special guest. Dr. Eisner will join Thomas for a conversation regarding Environmental tobacco smoke (ETS) and a report in the September edition of CHEST, (the peer- reviewed journal of the American College of Chest Physicians). They will discuss travel, asthma and ETS.

Margo Classe author of the HELLO EUROPE series of books will join Sandy to share her love of travel, the success of her books and her trip to Spain this month. Margo's Hello Series books have been hailed by the New York Post as "a no-nonsense directory to hundreds of clean, safe and inexpensive rooms". Newsday writes "(Hello! Series) Offers lots of detail, including best rooms and extent of English spoken."

Travel Talk Radio’s regular segment, LEGALLY SPEAKING in Travel & Tourism, welcomes travel attorney Alexander Anolik of San Francisco to discuss current legal issues in the industry. With over 30 years experience, Mr. Anolik has represented thousands of travel agents agencies, tour operators, airlines, cruise lines, discount consolidators, travel clubs, and now, as the industry moves into the high-tech era, he represents several major travel Internet sites. We apologize, the toll free number has not been turned on at the new studio.

On September 9, 2002, we lost our beloved friend and mentor Walt Reno.
Walt was 75 at the time of his passing and was loved by all who listened to his wonderful stories about Las Vegas, golfing and the many entertainers he interviewed in his 30 years of broadcasting. We were very lucky to have completed 12 programs with Walt, his humor and fascination of people were his trademark here at Travel Talk Radio. His monthly segment, RENO in VEGAS will be missed and as well as his legendary salute to our Southern CA audience opening with "Helloooo San Diegoooo"! and his close ... "Keep those Chargers"! We love and miss you Walt.
